I have been collecting and playing Saturn games since the USA launch in May of 1995. Along with many excellent titles released for the Saturn, there were also many poor titles released. This CD-ROM is designed to provide a compilation of the best Saturn games, and previews over 160 of the VERY BEST games released (both USA and Japan) for the Sega Saturn. This CD-ROM archive is designed for retro gamers just getting into the Sega Saturn, Saturn veterans who want to see if there are any gems that they may have missed, or anyone interested in seeing what this system is all about. Why all the fuss over Sega Saturn? Well, one main reason: 2D. This 32-bit game machine was built for 2D gaming (something lost with today's current consoles). Numerous high-quality 2D games were produced for Sega's Saturn including: Platform, Fighting, Shooting, RPG, and Beat 'em up games. Although 2D graphics are the Saturn's strength, with the right programming team, incredible 3D graphics games were also produced. Games like Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter 2, Dead Or Alive, Powerslave, and the Panzer Dragoon games proved that Sega's dual-processor machine was also capable of some incredible 3D feats.
On this CD-ROM is a Windows Application. This application works with WIN95/98/ME/2000/XP and NT4.X operating systems. You may sort games by category(Shooter, Racing, RPG,...ect) or select ALL, for a list of game titles in alphabetic order. FRONT and REAR game case images may be viewed for each game title, along with a brief description of the gameplay. Over 160 of the games have a 15 second (or longer) video clip of actual gameplay! These videos show the "Title Screen" for the game, which then fades into 15 seconds of video (and audio) from the game.

There were many (over 1,000) titles released for the Sega Saturn. With this CD, you will view over 160 of the best games that Saturn has to offer, without surfing the web, waiting for downloads, or scrolling through 100's of mediocre games. All images were scanned by myself and are games from my collection. This software requires no installation. It runs completely from the CD-ROM drive.
